School HistoryIn response to the overwhelming need for Catholic education in North Georgia, the Archdiocese of Atlanta built the first elementary school on the south side of Atlanta below the beltway. Archbishop Donoghue named Our Lady of Victory with the accompanying motto: Fides Nostra Vicit Mundum. Translated from Latin, the motto means, “Our faith conquers the world”. Our Lady of Victory Catholic Elementary School received the accreditation visit by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in the spring of 2002. Based on this visit, Our Lady of Victory was granted initial accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). In accordance with the teaching of the Catholic Church, Catholic Schools shall not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, or national origin in the administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs. The school holds membership in the following organizations:
Our Lady of Victory Catholic School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) Our Lady of Victory Catholic School is entering its sixth year this year and is rapidly reaching full student capacity. OLV is a single section school for students entering Pre-K-8th grade. There are teacher aides in Pre-K-3rd grades. The school is divided into two Divisions, the Lower Division encompassing Pre-K-4th grades and the Middle Division encompassing 5th-8th grades. With Catholic Formation at its core, OLV is moving full steam ahead striving to reach its full potential and fulfilling Archbishop John Francis Donoghue’s dream for Catholic education in the south Atlanta metro area.
