News Release Week of September 17, 2007

Thank you, Mr. Hilley, Mrs. Annmarie Gilbert, and all of our Home and School volunteers for a delicious spaghetti dinner and wonderful evening on Friday, September 14th. The Home and School Executive Board officers were introduced and unveiled the many exciting events planned for this school year. If you have not already done so, mark the date for the Home and School Auction on Saturday, November 10th.

There are five more spaghetti dinners on our calendar, so if you missed Friday’s dinner, there are plenty of opportunities to join us again. The sole purpose of the dinners is for community – delicious food shared in good company. Please come out and join your fellow OLV families.

Congratulations to our volleyball and soccer teams – both A and B teams for volleyball and soccer are off to a great start and are to be commended for their team spirit. 

Safety patrol will be trained and “on duty” the week of September 24th. Thank you, Mrs. Krabel, Mrs. Going, and Mrs. Jeppesen for coordinating the safety patrol program this year. Safety patrol members will be from our 5th, 6th, and 7th grade classes this year. Experienced members will be scheduled with our new safety patrol members.

Please look for information coming home regarding Science Olympiad and Drama Club. Both will be starting up very soon.

Please remember OLV’s 2:00 p.m. dismissal on Wednesdays (unless we have a scheduled noon dismissal). (Wednesday, October 24th is a noon dismissal.)

Safety First …. Please remember not to pull out of car line, unless directed to do so by a faculty member. Children are asked to load directly from the sidewalk during afternoon car line. Of course, we recognize that there are exceptions to this, which we are happy to accommodate.

Please remember that “Winter Uniform” begins on Monday,

October 22, 2007.
