Our Lady of Victory Catholic School, in Tyrone, Georgia, in partnership with family and church, exists to provide a community where faith, trust, and love for God is encouraged and developed. Dedicated to teaching the doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church in a challenging, academic environment, we strive to promote lifelong learning through critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and social responsibility. We promote the values, attitudes, behaviors, and skills that students will need to develop their potential as leaders of tomorrow.
“Thank you,” 2008-2009 Home and School Executive Board for a terrific year. Not only was the Board’s fund-raising efforts most profitable, but the members were extremely dedicated to the mission of OLV Catholic School, so energetic, and so much fun. Please check out our “Thank you 2007-2008 Home and School” slide show link on the front page of our school website.
The Boosterthon pledges are coming in at a steady pace. We will be reporting the total amount raised as soon as we have a final figure. The money raised from the Boosterthon is being placed in a separate account, dedicated to OLV’s new playground surface. It is our goal to have enough in the account by Spring or Summer of 2009 to install the playground cover. A sample of the new playground surface is in my office if you would like to come by and take a look. The new surface will be much more resilient, which makes it safer for the children, and it will be much more durable.
Changes for the 2008-2009 School Year:
Edline is an online program that will allow OLV teachers to post grades and allow parents to access their student’s grades quickly and easily. Grade reports will be sent to the Edline accounts of parents via the web address parents have furnished to OLV.
All families are required to have an e-mail address in order to access grades on Edline. (“Hard copy” interim reports will no longer be available.)
Edline training for parents will be scheduled at the beginning of the school year.

Safety First …. Please remember not to pull out of car line, unless directed to do so by a faculty member. Children are asked to load directly from the sidewalk during afternoon car line. Of course, we recognize that there are exceptions to this, which we are happy to accommodate. Also, if you are visiting the school during school hours, please remember to utilize the parking lot (in lieu of parking in the “car line” lane).
[Please remember to check our school calendar posted on OLV’s web page for the most recent updates. (Existing dates have not changed, but we have added some special events to the calendar.)]
