Technology Newsletter

Assignment:

Using Microsoft Publisher, create a technology newsletter showcasing the past, present and future in technology.  The newsletter should be designed with a technology flair and an article should be written on each of the items listed below.  Each article should be written in a 12-14 point font and should include enough detail IN YOUR OWN WORDS to (1)  fully explain the topic,  (2) how it has affected or may affect society and  (3) your opinion about the topic. You should include a minimum of one graphic per past, present and future. You should include your opinion on all articles.

Past:

• An article on the History of Computers: Research and write an article on an invention key to the development of the computer or the five generations of computers. Choose from the terms or links in Appendix A to include in the article.
• Article on Computer Pioneers: Research and write an article on a person who contributed to the development of the computer. Choose from the names or links in Appendix B as options for people.
• Article on the History of the Internet: Research and write an article on the history and operation of the Internet. Choose from the terms or links in Appendix C to include in the article

Present:

• An article on a current Technology Development: Research and write an article about a recent development in technology, what it does and how it has or will affect technology and society.  This should be a development that you don’t currently know. about

Future:

• A Potential Future Development: Research and write an article about an invention that could transform the future of technology and the world.  Choose something from the links in Appendix D.
• Responsibility in Technology:  Write an article about the importance of responsibility in technology.  The ethical and moral implications of any future development should be explored to determine if it would be a positive rather than negative influence on society.  Describe why this is so important what potential positive and negative impacts this future invention may have and what safeguards you think should be in place in order to prevent the manifestation of evil of this or another future technology.

You should attach a source page of all resources used.  Sources can be a listing of links, but should be a minimum of 5 – one per article with the exception of the last article.
